Qualifications: General office duties, which include but are not limited to assisting with charitable donation requests, fan mail, the NY Islander’s Kids Club among other office duties.  Interns will also take part in the New York Islander’s Community Patrol.  The Community Patrol visits local Boys and Girls Clubs, youth groups, camps and schools daily.  The Community Patrol brings an inflatable slap shot booth and give-a ways.  The set up, manning, and break down of the inflates, along with distributing gave-a ways to the children are all duties of a day on the road with the Community Patrol.

Job Overview: Assist the PR/Special Events staff in the promotion and planning of internal and external fundraising events with an emphasis on our Radio-A-Thon, Kids for Wish Kids, public awareness and Host Night. May also assist with general office duties as assigned.

Goals:Learn strategies to plan, execute and market special events. Learn about corporate and individual giving through fundraising and event outreach. Create a lasting connection between the Make-A-Wish mission and future experiences.

Responsibilities: Assist staff with the planning and execution of events and other fundraising programs. Student must be able to work within a consistent schedule during normal office hours (preferably 2-3 days per week) a minimum of 10 hours per week is required. The number of hours per week will vary due to event requirements and the amount of responsibility assumed. The duration of the internship is negotiable. Ideal candidates will be available from September-December. Attendance at evening or weekend meetings and events may be necessary.

Qualifications: Candidate should be at least sophomore standing and enrolled in a college or university, pursuing a degree in Marketing, Business, Public Relations, Communications or related field with a minimum GPA of 3.00/4.00; Organized, detail-oriented; capable of managing multiple tasks; Strong written and oral communication skills; Friendly and able to build rapport with different groups of people; Mature and responsible. Compensation: This is a volunteer position. To enable the receipt of college credits, the Make-A-Wish Foundation will work with you to meet your school’s requirements. A $500 stipend will be paid upon the satisfactory completion of the internship for an 8 week, 10 hour per week work schedule; $1,000 for anything beyond 9 weeks and 15 hour per week work schedule. Any work-related expenses will be reimbursed.

Job Overview:The Corporate Relations department oversees external public relations and internal communications on behalf of The Allstate Corporation. Functions in the department include communication strategy, public social responsibility (including corporate positioning, community relations and corporate contributions), media relations, government affairs, issues management, reputation leadership, The Allstate Foundation, shareholder communications, executive support, and employee and agency owner communications.

Responsibilities:Interns will work on specific projects for one of the teams within the Corporate Relations Department. You will work side by side with experienced professionals to translate your classroom knowledge into real-world challenges in a dynamic business environment.

Completing writing assignments and communication projects for clients or external media/ stakeholders; Preparing reports; Conducting research; Completing other communication activities as assigned

Qualifications:Experience and Education, Upper-level undergraduate students or graduate-level students with a minimum GPA of 3.0, Majoring in Public Relations, Communication or Journalism, Previous academic, extracurricular and/or work experience related to public relations is strongly preferred.

Although this is an unpaid position, you will receive tickets to all Rep productions and have access to opening night receptions. First Stage Children's Theater

Marketing/Public Relations Internship (unpaid, flexible part time hours)

Organization Profile: First Stage Children's Theater seeks a public/media relations intern (unpaid) throughout the year. This internship will provide experience in writing press releases, ad copy and other company communications materials; web, email and social media; research; and other projects as assigned. Some clerical work and data entry will be required.

Job Description: The intern will have the opportunity to work directly with the Marketing & Public Relations Director, Audience Development Specialist and other First Stage staff, learning the various strategies needed in promoting a successful theater company.

Qualifications: The qualified candidate has strong written and verbal communication skills. This internship is best for the student working towards a degree in communications, public relations, marketing, journalism, arts administration or non-profit management.

While supervision and direction is readily available, the intern will be expected to be a self-starter and able to work independently. This internship is unpaid. A mutually agreed upon schedule will be determined to meet the needs of both First Stage and the intern.

Job Description: The M Magazine marketing & promotions internship requires an individual who is flexible and assimilates quickly. We’re looking for someone who is energetic, organized, can meet deadlines and has the ability to make decisions. The marketing intern must be proficient in writing, research, fact-checking, data entry and other methods of communication. Experience in InDesign is a plus.

Major projects include:
Special Sections: Work with the promotions director to gather content and data for the magazine’s monthly special sections.
Advertising Promotions: Update media kits and sales materials for the advertising sales staff. Projects include creating sales flyers for upcoming special sections, updating older sales pieces, writing eblasts and coordinating specialized mailings to advertising prospects.
