The Marquette University interdisciplinary minor in family studies allows students to develop an understanding of the issues and challenges experienced by families currently and historically from a variety of disciplinary perspectives. Students examine the well-being of diverse individuals and families over the lifespan as well as the dynamic interactions within families and between families and society. This knowledge of family studies fosters the personal and social development of students as well as the application of principles of social justice. A rigorous understanding of the family is appropriate to any major.
