Use theory and research to tailor your own program. Gain expertise across the disciplines in areas
such as global studies, media effects, and visual communication or develop your own area.
Submit a plan of study identifying courses you’ll take to fulfill the nine-credit specialization requirement
along with a narrative explanation.
COMMUNICATION ABOUT HEALTH, ENVIRONMENT, SCIENCE AND SUSTAINABILITY (CHESS)
Learn the theory, build the research skills, and develop the expertise to communicate with a variety of audiences about health issues, and concerns for the environment and the sciences.
JOUR 5330 Health, Science, and Environmental Journalism
Six credit hours selected with your adviser. A thesis or professional project is required for this specialization.
