Urban Journalism Workshop
June 14-26, 2015 Multimedia Backpack Journalism
The Urban Journalism Workshop (UJW) is an intense two-week program focused on multimedia news gathering. Students use digital equipment to cover events, interview local news and learn about journalism in a variety of media.
Media outlets throughout the country need reporters and editors to gather and present news to an increasingly diverse audience. Your perspective on culture and society is valuable in a fiercely competitive world of print, broadcast and online media.
The workshop is here to help you start developing the professional skills you'll need to succeed. Marquette professors and staff members work with you one-on-one to gather news and produce an online website, the Urban Voice.
For more than 20 years, the Urban Journalism Workshop has offered
aspiring journalists a sense of the real world of news reporting.
